Welcome to WonkoWorld
A slightly unstable transmission, broadcasting now
This is WonkoWorld. Not a brand. Not a lifestyle. More like a frequency you accidentally tune into at 2:17 a.m. when the sensible stations have gone to bed and the dial starts whispering back.
WonkoWorld is where music wanders off the map. Where genres loosen their ties. Where guitars argue with synthesizers, where jazz forgets its manners, where ambient drifts like fog through abandoned radio towers. If it sounds strange, bent, overlooked, or joyfully unnecessary, it probably belongs here.
This site exists because curiosity needed a home. Because digging through crates, feeds, archives, basements, hard drives, and half-remembered playlists kept turning up things too good to leave unshared. Because radio is still magic when you treat it like one.
You’ll find shows, mixes, essays, interviews, side projects, late-night thoughts, and occasional nonsense. Some posts will be polished. Others will feel like notes scribbled on a flyer after a gig. That’s intentional. Perfection has very boring taste.
WonkoWorld is connected to radios real and imagined. To Wonko’s Hole. To late nights, long drives, headphones turned a little too loud. To people who love sound for what it does, not what it sells. To musicians, tinkerers, listeners, and those who enjoy standing slightly too close to the speakers.
There’s no manifesto. Just an open door and a signal that keeps mutating.
Tune in. Drift around. Stay as long as the frequency holds.
Transmission continues.
